Using WordPress as CMS
Sunday, March 25th, 2007I tried to use WordPress as a CMS — with very good results. I set up the page www.janaknott.de/ in a few hours — including prototyping the CSS and HTML. There are many plugins for different function a CMS needs and WordPress does not include. I will write more about this if have tested a little more.
The advantages are:
- Very easy and quick
- Extensible
- different templates
- User management
The disadvantages are:
- The author’s frontend could be easier and is not very flexible
The Conclusion is that it’s very great for small to medium sized pages with few authors.
